CH. 92 - Honesty and Vows
“Main, that cave yesterday was a total bust. Not scary at all.” Hikigaya says with a disappointed tone.
“At least the hike was nice.” Chizuru says to him. They sit on the couch as Hikigaya has his hands behind his head.
“Speak for yourselves. I say yesterday was quite successful.” Mormo says while squishing a piece of bread down on a messy sandwich of his making.
“Where did your friend go after everything?” Lucy asks, taking a huff of a roll. Mormo shrugs as he takes a large bite out of the sandwich.
“I dunno. He said he was going back to his house in District 14.” Mormo answers with a mouthful.
“Isn’t that where a bunch of rich people live?” Kitaro asks as he sweats a bit at the thought of the crazy old man living in a wealthy mansion.
“Beats me. Want a bite?” Mormo offers to Touma as he walks past him on the dining room table. Touma sweats at the sight and shakes his head.
“No, thanks..”
“Your loss, big boy.” Mormo says before taking another large bite of the sandwich and hopping off the table. Kitaro stares at him as he walks away with a confused look.
“Are you not wearing any pants?” Kitaro asks.
“I don’t wear any around my castle, I’m not wearing any here.” Mormo says as he walks away. Kitaro sweats at the response.
“I mean, you’re a teddy bear, I don’t care, I was just curious..” Kitaro mumbles with a droop.
“Well then, how are we gonna make up for Hikigaya and Shiori’s total absolute failure of an expedition yesterday?” Haru asks mockingly while getting close to Hikigaya’s face with a smug look. He gets irritated and squints at him.
“Hey, come here for a sec. Listen.” Hikigaya says as he wags his finger in a ‘come here’ motion. Haru looks surprised before leaning closer to Hikigaya, turning his head so his ear is facing him. Suddenly, Hikigaya grabs Haru by the neck and starts strangling him. They struggle as the others laugh. Chizuru sweats as she turns to the others with an awkward smile.
“Any ideas? I’m open to suggestions.” She says.
“We could go to the beach?” Sugawara offers.
“I don’t like sand. It’s coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere.” Kitaro says.
“Nerd.” Lucy says plainly as Kitaro vein pops at her words. Hikigaya lets Haru go with a huff and walks towards the kitchen, annoyed, when suddenly he stops. He rubs his chest as his face gets a bit red. He feels his temperature increase a little as he sweats and shakes his head a little.
“Hey.. where’s Shiori?” he asks as Lucy turns and looks at him.
“She’s taking a shower in the bathroom right there.” Lucy says, pointing at the door just down the hall. Hikigaya looks that way as Lucy stares at him. She then smirks. “She’s been in there for a while. Why don’t you go check on her?” Lucy says. Hikigaya looks at her blushing and stunned.
“Are you crazy??” he asks.
“What? Don’t you guys shower together like all the time?” Lucy asks smugly.
“They do that?” Hisana asks.
“We do not!” Hikigaya says before looking at Lucy with a pout.
"Do ittt..! It'd be funny and stuff..!" Haru says weakly from the couch, limp over the back of it.
"Yeah, make up for your total absolute failure of an expedition yesterday." Sugawara taunts. Hikigaya stares at them as they all look at him, waiting for his next move. Hikigaya huffs as this weird feeling increases in his chest, and he turns around sharply.
“Fine, but I’m not doing this for the reason you think.” Hikigaya says as Chizuru and Lucy high five each other.
In the bathroom, Shiori stands in the shower against the wall. She pants and blushes intensely. Her eyes are barely open as she breathes heavily with her hand between her legs, moving gently.
“Ah... Hikigaya... What’s wrong with me?.. Why do I keep thinking about... I.. ah!..” Shiori gasps as she twitches. She pushes her head back against the wall with a groan. “..ah... I can’t-... I need him...” she moans with a soft breath when suddenly there’s a knock at the door. Shiori is startled as she instinctively covers herself. “Y-yeah??” she calls out. Hikigaya stands on the other side of the door with flustered look.
“Shiori? You okay? The others wanted me to check on you-” he says into the door only for it to suddenly fly open, she grabs him, pulls him in, then the door shuts just as fast. The others stare in shock as Lucy smirks smugly at Sugawara.
“And you thought it wouldn’t work.” She says as Sugawara rolls his eyes. In the bathroom, Shiori quickly slams Hikigaya against the back wall, holding him by the shoulders. He looks shocked for a moment before blushing intensely.
“Shiori! You’re na- na-” before he can say anything else, Shiori speaks with sharp eyes.
“What did you do to me?..” she asks. Hikigaya tries to look away as he speaks.
“What a-are you talking about?” he asks, trying to stay focused on keeping his eyes closed.
“It has to be your fault somehow! I keep feeling... way more than usual... and it’s all you! All I can think about is you, totally just.. taking my...” she trails off as she slides her hands across his chest. Hikigaya closes his eyes tightly as she runs her hands down and under his shirt, feeling his strong body. Shiori almost shudders at the touch as Hikigaya fights hard to control himself, shivering as Shiori runs her wet hands along his chest and waist.
“I feel it too...” he says softly as Shiori’s hands continue to explore his body, going down and hooking onto the waistband of his pants with a compelled look in her eyes.
“So maybe we should just-” Shiori starts to say when there’s a knocking at the bathroom door.
“So are you guys dating yet?” Alice asks through the door. Lucy and Chizuru look over shocked before rushing and tackling Alice to the floor.
“Don’t interrupt!” Lucy shouts.
“They’re probably about to admit their feelings!” Chizuru says as the sudden knock and shouting snaps Shiori out of her daze. She quickly processes the position she’s in and steps back, quickly wrapping a towel around her body.
“You better not have seen anything! This is still your fault!” Shiori shouts angrily but more flustered as Hikigaya keeps his eyes closed, covering them with his hands.
“I didn’t! I swear, I’ve seen nothing! But how is this my fault??” he asks.
“Just get out already!” Shiori shouts as Hikigaya rushes to the door only to slam into it because of his closed eyes. “Door, Hikigaya.” Shiori says before he recomposes himself and opens the door with one hand then rushes out. Shiori looks super flustered as she stands there for a moment, processing what just happened.
After a bit, Shiori steps out of the bathroom embarrassed, dressed in new clothes. Hikigaya sits on the couch with a flustered look as Ryuji leans in close.
“So what exactly did you do in there?” He asks smugly.
“Nothing!” Hikigaya says, embarrassed, holding his face in his hands.
“I still can’t believe you did that. What even compelled you to do it?” Haru asks next to him. Hikigaya glares at him, lifting his face a bit, before strangling Haru once again.
"You all put me up to it!" he shouts. As Shiori approaches, Lucy smirks at her.
“There she is.” Lucy says before Shiori suddenly punches her on the head angrily.
“If anything else like that happens, I’m blaming you, you and especially you!” She shouts, pointing at Hikigaya. She then turns to Chizuru and raises a fist as Chizuru flinches with a cute squeak, but Shiori just walks away. Chizuru sweats with a smile on her face.
“All things considered, that wasn’t so bad.” She says.
“Speak for yourself…” Lucy groans in pain, holding her head. Sugawara sighs as Hisana giggles. Shiori sits down with a huff, crossing her arms.
“Whatever… I’m used to you guys by now…” Shiori grumbles before Alice steps up behind her.
“Yeah, but are you used to this!?” She shouts before slapping Shiori in the face with a pillow. Alice laughs happily before a pillow is slammed into her face, causing her to hit the ground.
“Alright! A pillow fight!” Hisana says happily as she grabs the cushion she’s on and joins the fight. The friends all get up and start laughing and hitting each other, grabbing every pillow they can find. As they enjoy themselves, waging this war, Mormo walks into the living room.
“Hey, what’s goin’ on here? Y'all finally snapped and decided to kill each other? BOOPH!” Mormo shouts as a stray pillow goes flying across the room and slamming into him. He goes flying back until he hits a window. “I.. hate you guys…” he says as he slides down to the ground.
As the hours pass and the group slowly begins to settle down, they eventually build a massive pillow fort, inspired by their weapon of choice hours ago. It almost covers the entire living room made from chairs, blankets, and other things. The friends are all gathered under the fort as they laugh together, dressed in light jammies for the warm weather.
“Yeah, well, that was about when she tripped over a ball she brought and slammed the cake right into my face.” Kitaro says with a smile as Hisana sweats.
“It's not my fault! If you had just eaten it from my lap like I said… at least you still got to taste it, though...” she says cutely.
“Yeah, with his whole head, haha!” Haru laughs. Lucy chuckles before looking at Kitaro.
“You know, I’m surprised you’re not totally focused on getting back to your game.” Lucy says. Kitaro looks at her surprised, not really thinking about it as Lucy smiles warmly. “I like the Kitaro that actually talks to us.” She says. Kitaro rubs the back of his head, a little embarrassed.
“Yeah… Well, I’m only really talking cause that guy over there is so boring.” Kitaro says, pointing at Hikigaya.
“Excuse you!” Hikigaya says in a snap. The others giggle as Chizuru speaks up.
“Seriously though! It’s kinda crazy how your mom has all this money. How’d she get it again?” Chizuru asks.
“His mom is a famous writer.” Alice answers for him as Hikigaya chuckles.
“Yeah, she is, but that’s actually not where most of it comes from. I wish I had an answer more than my dad left it for us, but that’s all I know.” Hikigaya says, also a bit disappointed that’s all he knows.
“So he left it for you and Amber to inherit?” Sugawara asks. Hikigaya kinda tilts his head with a debating look.
“Yeahhhh, kinda, I guess. I mean, I never met the guy, so I wouldn’t know, but I assume he meant it for her too.” He says.
“Why wouldn’t he leave it for Amber?” Haru asks.
“Well, Amber isn’t his. We’re only related on my mom’s side. Mom had Amber before she met my dad.” Hikigaya says. Shiori and the others look totally shocked.
“I never realized.” Shiori says softly. Alice leans over to Kitaro.
“So much for boring, huh?” Alice says smugly as Kitaro pushes her face away.
“It was a joke.” He says back. Lucy then sighs and rolls over onto her tummy.
“Welp, not that I don’t love learning about you guys, but I’m bored.” Lucy says before Chizuru smiles at the group.
"Why don't we play a game?" she offers.
"No thanks, I'm trying to quit." Kitaro says.
"Nooo, like… Two Truths and a Lie, or Charades, or… Oh~ Truth or Dare!" Chizuru says excitedly. The group kind of perks up at the thought. Sugawara looks a little skeptical, though.
"But don't people usually, like, wimp out of their dares? What incentive do we have to actually play along?" he asks. They think for a moment before Lucy gets an idea.
"Wait here." She says before she leaves the fort. The others look around at each other in silence before Hikigaya speaks up.
"So we're actually gonna play Truth or Dare?" he asks.
"I guess so. Should be fun!" Suiyoubi says.
"Yeah, if you find teasing and baiting fun." Kitaro says, crossing his arms. Alice looks at him confused.
"What do you mean?" she asks.
"Come on. It's us. Do you really think this game is gonna stay innocent? It's probably gonna end with some group masturbation session or something. Lucy's probably out there right now getting the-" before he can finish, Lucy rushes back in holding a couple alcohol bottles.
"Tadah! Now we can get this thing started~!" Lucy says while doing a little dance. Kitaro droops.
"Yeah, that…" he mumbles. Haru smirks at him.
"Yee have little faith. I'm sure none of us will do anything inappropriate even if we start drinking!" Haru says happily. Kitaro sweats as he looks at him out of the corner of his eye.
"I'm not gonna hold my breath.." he says.
"And does it bother you so much some of the hottest people in the world like being comfortable with you?" Lucy asks with a taunting look. Kitaro sweats as he looks away.
"I didn't say it bothered me… I'm just making sure we're all on the same page…" he says softly.
"That's what I thought." Lucy says as she nods. Sugawara looks at the bottles as he speaks.
"Is that the incentive?" he asks.
“Yep! Thought we might as well use the gift yo momma left for us, Hiki.” Lucy says with a smile. Alice perks up, understanding.
"Ohhh, I get it! That way, anyone who doesn't tell the truth or do the dare, they have to drink! And the first one to tap out sucks!" Alice says excitedly. Lucy winks and points at her with a smile.
"Exactly. I like the way you think." She says. Alice snickers and rubs her finger under her nose smugly.
"Heh heh… yeah, they call me the thinker." She says back.
“Yippie… this’ll be so fun for me…” Hikigaya mumbles.
“Oh yeah. Hikigaya’s powers stop him from getting drunk. At least Shiori can turn hers off.” Chizuru says with a sympathetic look.
“It’s fine.” Hikigaya says before smirking. “I’ll just choose drink over and over again so I’ll never have to do anything.” He says, actually kind of excited now.
“Awww, that’s cheating!” Hisana whines.
“Hey, I didn’t choose the game.” Hikigaya says defensively.
"Sorry, I didn't really think about that. I'm a little high right now." Lucy says with a giggle.
"So, we're getting drunk again?" Alice asks.
"It seems that way…" Shiori says, crossing her arms. Lucy takes her seat with a big smile.
“Okay, who’s going first?” Lucy asks, opening the cards.
“You should since this is your dumb idea.” Kitaro says. Lucy smirks at him.
“Oh, you don’t want to get me started.” She says while looking around the dim fort at her friends. "Hmmm… Kitaro." she says.
"Oh no." he responds.
"Truth or dare?" she asks. Kitaro looks nervous as he looks around. The others wait for his response.
"Uh… those are my only options?" he asks.
"Yes." the entire group says together. Kitaro sweats as he nods.
"Alright, alright… Truth." he says. Lucy smirks.
"Are you in love with Hisana?" she asks. Everyone gasps.
"Right for the throat!" Chizuru says. Kitaro looks shocked as Hisana stares at him with an anticipating look. He hesitates for a moment before grabbing the bottle of alcohol and taking a big drink. Lucy shakes her head as the others groan in disappointment. He then slams the bottle down, letting out a sigh. He wipes his mouth as he glares at the group.
"Game on." he says. Hisana stares at him before smiling softly to herself. "It's my turn, right?" he asks as Lucy nods, waving her hand at him. "Lucy. Truth or Dare?" he asks with revenge on the mind.
"Dare." she says confidently. Kitaro smirks as he points at her.
"Take a piece of clothing off!" Kitaro almost shouts, confident he'll get her back. Lucy simply smirks smugly.
"Okay." she says before immediately beginning to take off her tank top, going so high as to flash her underboob. Instantly, everyone’s eyes grow wide as they all start to react only for her to drop her top and stick her tongue out at them. “Blegggh you bunch of perverts! Hehehe!” She giggles before removing one of her socks and tossing it to the side. Everyone sighs as Kitaro throws his head back in frustration.
"Damnit! She got me!" he shouts as Alice and Hisana laugh.
“Alright, I guess I'll go again.” Lucy says, looking around. "Haru. Truth or Dare?" she asks. Haru smirks, determined not to lose.
"Dare!" he shouts confidently. Lucy thinks for a moment before an idea enters her mind. She waves at him to come closer so he does, confused. She then whispers something in his ear, which makes him blush and look at her shocked. "You sure?" he asks softly as Lucy nods excitedly. Haru then looks to his right slowly as Ryuji looks back confused.
“What?” he asks. Haru looks at Lucy one more time as she makes a silly face. He then smirks and blushes as he turns back to Ryuji. “What?” Ryuji asks again, a little concerned before Haru quickly latches onto him and starts making out with Ryuji. Everyone screams with smiles and laughter as Sugawara’s jaw drops.
“Haru!-” Sugawara says before suddenly he’s grabbed by the chin and pulled in by Lucy. She kisses him deeply, slipping him some tongue before letting go.
“There. Now you’re even.” She says with a flirty look. Sugawara blushes as he poofs with steam and a dumb smile comes across his face as he basically melts in her hand. She lets him go as Haru and Ryuji sit up. Ryuji looks stunned as Haru smirks, wiping his mouth.
“My turn.” Haru says before looking around. "Chizuru." he says.
"Hmm, dare." Chizuru says with a smile.
"I dare you to do your best Shiori impression." Haru says with a smile. Chizuru smirks as she looks at Shiori.
"Ahem… Hi, I'm Shiori, and I know better than you do cause I'm the smartest person in the class except for Sugawara, but he doesn't need to know that. I'm a badass vigilante with badass superpowers, and I'm in love with my bestfriend. I got this cute little cowlick." She says, doing overly dramatic movements to mimic Shiori rather poorly. Shiori just stares at her blankly.
"Well, that's rather disingenuous.." Shiori mumbles.
"That's a big word." Hisana says before Chizuru giggles and sits down.
"Okay. Touma. Truth or dare?" she asks. Touma is shocked and answers quickly.
"T-truth!" he says loudly and embarrassed. Chizuru smiles at him with a blush on her cheeks.
“Do you like me?” She asks openly. Touma instantly responds.
“Y-yes!” He says the same exact way he said ‘Truth’ a moment ago. The others stare at him for a moment before he realizes what he said. He sweats and gets embarrassed. “I mean, like, of course I do! R-right? W-we all like you! …” Touma says, trailing off awkwardly. Chizuru smiles a big grin before speaking.
“It’s your turn.” She says softly. Touma exhales before looking at the others. Alice raises her hand excitedly to be picked.
“Me! Pick me!” She says excitedly. Touma looks at Hisana and asks.
“Hisana. Truth or dare?” He says. Alice droops sadly.
“Aw…” Alice mopes. Hisana thinks for a moment before picking.
“Truth.” She says.
“Who do you like?” Touma asks. Hisana smiles happily.
“Oh, that one’s super easy! I love Kitaro!” She says while latching onto him with a hug. Touma sweats.
“Oh, r-right… that should’ve been obvious…” he mumbles. Hisana looks around as Alice lifts her hand excitedly once again.
“Meeee! Pick me!” Alice begs.
“Shiori!” Hisana picks. Alice collapses. “Truth or dare?” Hisana asks.
“Dare.” Shiori answers plainly.
“I dare you… to take off your sweater.” Hisana says with a blushy lip bite.
“And there it is.” Kitaro says, pointing at her with a blank look. Shiori smirks before grabbing a bottle from the center and taking a big drink from it. Some of the others are audibly disappointed as Haru laughs.
“Oooh! Shiori is a stinky wimp like this guy!” Haru teases with a giggle, pointing at Kitaro. Shiori stops drinking and sets the bottle down.
“I’m not wearing anything underneath, so that’s going to have to wait.” Shiori says with a smirk. The group oohs at her as she looks around. Alice raises her hand once again, looking more desperate than ever as Shiori picks.
“Kitaro.” she says. Alice pops as Shiori asks. “Truth or dare?”
“Truth.” Kitaro says.
“Hm.. have you ever peed your pants?” She asks with a smirk.
“As a conscious person? No. But I’d be lying if I said I’ve never had a drop or two come out.” Kitaro says as they all laugh.
“Okay, now who’s-” Kitaro begins when Alice suddenly grabs him by the face and presses her face against his firmly.
“ME.” Alice says loudly. Kitaro sweats as he leans back.
“Alright.. Alice, truth or dare?” He asks. Alice looks happy as she answers.
“Dare!” She shouts. Kitaro smirks.
“Okay, I dare you to-” before Kitaro can even finish his sentence, Alice picks up a bottle and starts drinking. Kitaro droops with a sweat drop. “I didn’t even get to say anything…” he mumbles as Alice starts coughing and struggling.
“Agh.. it was much easier to get drunk last time..” Alice says with a choking voice.
“That’s because the alcohol was mixed in with other drinks, dork.” Lucy says casually.
“What’re you even doing?” Kitaro asks. Alice points at Shiori with one eye closed as she explains.
“Well, since Shiori and you already drank, you're the losers. I wanna get the drinking out of the way now so that way I’m too drunk to turn down any request later. Then I won’t be out first and be the stinkiest! It’s an investment.” Alice explains her logic. The others are all too stunned by her thought process to speak, so Alice just points two fingers at Hikigaya and asks.
“Hikigaya. Truth or dare?!” she asks excitedly.
“Dare.” He says casually. Alice smiles mischievously as she blushes.
“I dare you to come over here and give me a big kiss!” Alice says while making a kissy face.
“There’s no way she’s that drunk already…” Sugawara says with a droop. Hikigaya rolls his eyes as he crawls to her.
“Whatever.” He says before he leans in and kisses her. Alice almost explodes for a moment before he pulls back, but then Alice wraps her arms around him.
“C’monnn! Kiss me like you mean it!” She says with a big smile before yanking him over and kissing him all over. Suiyoubi leans closer to Shiori and whispers.
“You okay with this?..” she asks. Shiori looks at her surprised before answering.
“Yeah, why wouldn’t I be? Besides, Alice is super cute.” Shiori says with a little smile. Hikigaya stumbles back as he wipes his mouth. Alice giggles on the ground on her back.
“Hehe.. totally worth it.” She says. Hikigaya huffs before looking at Ryuji.
“Ryuji. Truth or dare?” He asks.
“Truth.” Ryuji says back with a cool smile.
“Hmm… have you ever had any fantasies about anyone in the group? Ever? And if so, who?” Hikigaya asks. Haru raises his hand before pointing at Hikigaya.
“Ah! That’s two questions.” Haru says.
“Eh, it’s a two parter.” Hikigaya says back with a shrug. Despite this, Ryuji answers.
“I have. Back when Shiori still liked me, it was so obvious… I did end up thinking about her.. that way.” Ryuji says softly with a slightly embarrassed smile.
“H-hey! I thought you said we weren’t gonna talk about that!” Lucy says, throwing her arm around Ryuji’s neck. The others look at her confused.
“What do you mean?” Chizuru asks. Lucy looks at her.
“We’ve talked about that before because… I’ve also thought about Shiori that way.” Lucy says with a flirty smile. Shiori blushes intensely as the couple giggles.
“Lucy, is there anyone here you wouldn’t do?” Suiyoubi asks plainly. Haru calls it out again, pointing at her.
“Hey, does that count as an official truth question?” Haru asks. Ryuji nods softly as if allowing it. Lucy smirks as she grabs the bottle and raises it up. Suiyoubi shrugs as Lucy takes a drink.
“I guess she dodged the question.” Hikigaya says with a smirk to Sugawara. Lucy then raises a finger at them then puts the bottle down with a satisfied sigh. She then looks at everyone, smirks and leans back.
“Nahhhh. Honestly, you guys are like my dream harem.” She says as everyone blushes and makes silly faces. “The people I love all loving each other. To tell the truth, where we are right now, what we’re doing here, this is like living a fantasy for me.” Lucy says casually. The group looks at her then at each other. Chizuru looks a little embarrassed as she speaks.
“Heh… I kinda.. feel the same.” Chizuru admits.
“Yeahhh…” Suiyoubi says as Touma shyly pushes his fingers together. Kitaro looks around before speaking out loud.
“Thank cos, I’m not the only one who feels that way.” He says, a bit sarcastic. Hisana punches him in the arm, glaring at him.
“Stop acting like you’re not the happiest you’ve ever been in your life when we’re together.” Hisana says firmly as Kitaro rubs his arm, smiling awkwardly. Lucy looks around at them then smiles warmly, that they feel the same way.
“I love you guys…” she says softly. They all look at her before smiling too.
“Love you too, Lucy!” Sugawara says.
“Yeah!” Alice cheers. Chizuru turns to Suiyoubi and hugs her tightly as they rub their faces together. Touma bumps Hikigaya gently with a smile as he chuckles.
“Love you too, big guy.” Hikigaya says before turning around only to be met by Shiori doing the same. They go to say it to each other but suddenly stop. They stare for a moment before a blush spreads across their faces and they look away embarrassed.
“Hey, I know what we should do!” Alice says happily as she looks at her friends. “We should all take a drink together to show our bond and promise to never leave each other as long as we live!” Alice says with big eyes and a bigger smile. The others smile back as Kitaro speaks.
“Nerd. That’s an anime thing.” He says as Alice blushes in embarrassment.
“Y-yeah? So what!? I still mean it!” She says back as Kitaro chuckles to himself. He then grabs the bottle and starts taking a drink. The others look surprised as he finishes and puts it down in front of himself firmly.
“Then, I promise to never leave you as long as I live.” Kitaro says as he looks at Alice. Her eyes shine before she grabs a bottle and does the same. She lets out a sigh after her drink before speaking out loud happily.
“I promise to never leave you guys!” she says so passionately. Lucy takes the bottle and does the same.
“I promise.” She says before passing the bottle to Ryuji, and he repeats. They pass the bottle around, each taking a drink as they pledge themselves to each other.
“I promise.” Ryuji says.
“I promise!” Suiyoubi says.
“On my soul, I promise!” Chizuru says happily. The group laughs and smiles as they hold each other, so happy to have found this bond in each other. Hisana then looks around at them before looking at Sugawara.
"Are we done playing truth or dare?" she asks.
"Maybe." he answers. Hisana pouts a little.
